Financial Disclaimer

Educational Content
Coink publishes educational content about personal finance and small-business finance. Content is intended for general education and should not be treated as personalized financial, legal, tax, or investment advice. Articles describe general principles and typical situations; they do not account for your income, debts, tax bracket, family structure, risk tolerance, or goals.
Scope of the Disclaimer
This disclaimer applies to: all articles, guides, worksheets, checklists, calculators, templates, newsletters, downloadable files, and social posts published by Coink, plus any answers to reader questions published on the Site.
It also applies to: guest contributions, interviews, and third-party material reproduced or summarized on the Site, though the original author may be credited.
This disclaimer does not cover: advice given to you by a licensed professional in a formal engagement, the terms of any product or contract you sign with a bank, lender, broker, or insurer, or the conduct of any third party. Those are governed by their own agreements.
No Advisory Relationship or Registration
The Site is operated by an individual publisher, not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or law firm. Coink is not registered with the SEC, any state securities regulator, the UK Financial Conduct Authority, or any equivalent body. Reading the Site, using a calculator, or corresponding by email does not create an advisory, fiduciary, brokerage, or attorney-client relationship. No content is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or product, or an offer or solicitation to do so.
Calculators and Estimates
Coink calculators provide estimates only. Loan payment, mortgage, compound interest, budget, and startup cost results are mathematical estimates and are not lender quotations, guarantees, or offers.
Every calculator relies on simplified assumptions — round rates, standard amortization, no fees unless a field says otherwise, no escrow, no rate changes, and tax treatment reduced to a single input or omitted. Real terms vary by lender, credit profile, location, and date. Figures are computed at the moment of entry and are not refreshed afterward; rates and thresholds quoted in articles may be stale by the time you read them.
Results Not Guaranteed
Nothing on the Site promises a particular outcome. Budgets get broken by events. Debt payoff timelines slip. Startup cost estimates miss line items. Past performance of any strategy or asset class is not a prediction.
Third-Party Data and Links
Rates, statistics, and product details are drawn from public sources believed reliable at the time of writing but are not independently audited. Where the Site links to a product, the link may be an affiliate link, disclosed at the point of use; affiliate status does not change the analysis, but you should assume the Site may earn a commission.
User Responsibility
You should verify any terms, rates, or figures with the relevant institution or a qualified professional before making financial decisions. You are responsible for the inputs you enter into calculators and for judging whether a general principle fits your situation. For anything involving tax filings, bankruptcy, securities, insurance coverage, or a contract you are about to sign, consult a licensed professional in your own jurisdiction.
Consumer Rights by Jurisdiction
Nothing in this disclaimer or in the Terms of Use excludes or limits any right that mandatory consumer-protection law gives you in your country of residence. Where the two conflict, the mandatory rule prevails. In particular:
United States. State consumer protection statutes apply, including the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act (R.C. Chapter 1345) for Ohio consumers, along with federal protections administered by the FTC and CFPB. Implied warranties are disclaimed only to the extent the law of your state permits; where a state bars disclaimer of an implied warranty, that warranty survives.
European Union and EEA. Consumers keep the protections of the Unfair Contract Terms Directive (93/13/EEC, as superseded by the 2024/2853 reforms) and the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), the Digital Content Directive (2019/770) where applicable, and the consumer provisions of the law of their member state. Terms that are unfair within the meaning of that Directive do not bind the consumer, and the rest of the agreement continues in force. Statutory conformity guarantees for digital content remain unaffected.
United Kingdom. Consumers keep their rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, and the terms are subject to the fairness test in Part 2 of the 2015 Act. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.
Canada. Consumers in Quebec keep the protections of the Consumer Protection Act (CQLR c P-40.1) and the Civil Code, including the rules on abusive clauses; consumers elsewhere keep their provincial consumer protection statute rights.
Australia. Consumers keep the consumer guarantees in the Australian Consumer Law (Competition and Consumer Act 2010, Schedule 2), which cannot be excluded. Where goods or services supplied through the Site fail a guarantee, the remedies in that Act apply regardless of the liability cap in the Terms.
Elsewhere. If you are outside the regions listed, mandatory local consumer law still applies to the extent it cannot be contracted around, and the severability provision in the Terms governs any clause that a local rule renders unenforceable.
Severability of This Disclaimer
If any part of this disclaimer is held invalid or unenforceable in your jurisdiction, that part is read down to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining parts stay in force. The invalidity of one provision does not void the disclaimer as a whole.
